The Virgin Islands are made up of over 70 islands, many of them no more than outcrops of rock. Some are just truly breathtaking and we have featured photos of around 20 of the smaller Virgin Islands (most of which are situated in the British Virgin Islands (BVI)). The Virgin Islands are an extremely popular wedding and honeymoon destination. Some even have a charter yacht wedding and then enjoy a unique honeymoon in the very romantic scenery.
The Virgin Islands are a diver’s dream come true. While snorkeling gives you a bird?s-eye view of the vividly colored reefs below, diving lets you get close to the marine life on the reefs. The Virgin Islands are a great place for children, especially children who enjoy being outside and like the water. A family vacation in the Virgin Islands should be heavy on swimming and snorkeling, with a dash of history and sightseeing. The Virgin Islands are small, volcanic islands, but have sharp elevation gradients and are dominated by dry and moist forests.
